Maintenance

Piller's Uniblock systems require special preventive maintenance that Static UPS do not require. PSS has the expertise and training to provide the best maintenance for your Piller UPS system. By having PSS provide maintenance on your Piller UPS system, you will be insuring that your system is ready to provide power to your critical loads in the event of a loss of utility power and to extend the life of your rotary UPS system. During a Preventive Maintenance Visit, our service technicians will perform the following items: • Visually inspect UPS physical condition. • Check and record battery charger for proper charge rate. • Take voltage readings on the input and output. • Visually inspect UPS electrical wiring for signs of overheating and insulation break down. • Inspect air filters for plugging and deterioration, replace if required. • Take current readings on the input and output. • Review event log. • Adjust for proper output voltage. • On parallel systems verify proper load sharing between UPS modules. • Grease the bearings of the generator. • Check proper operation of leds and lamps. • Check internal power supplies • Inspect cabinet fans for proper operation. • Verify metering display is accurate. • Record event memories. • Software Setups saved on UPS models that have this option. Annual Preventive Maintenance: we perform the above in addition to checking all the power connections for proper torque. Note: Every 5 years the rotary requires a bearing change to be performed on it. PSS has the expertize and tools to perform the bearing change on the horizontal rotary in the Uniblock classic design and on the vertical rotary like in the UB2 design.
