Emergency Lighting Inverters are a critical
piece of equipment that facilities need to
provide in order to have emergency lights
function during a power outage. Without
proper maintenance, the emergency lights
systems could fail when they are needed
the most. Power Systems Specialists can
provide preventive maintenance for your
Emergency Lighting Inverter system in
order help keep your Emergency Lighting
Inverter online when it is needed most.
At a minimum, in order to be labeled as
UL924, an Emergency Lighting Inverter
needs to be able to provide 90 minutes of
battery backup. With our expertise in UPS
systems and batteries we can diagnose
potential problems with a facilities
Emergency Lighting Inverter before they
occur.
During a Preventive Maintenance Visit on
the Emergency Lighting Inverter, our
service technicians will perform the
following items:

Visually inspect the Emergency
Lighting Inverter physical condition.
•
Check and record battery charger for
proper charge rate.
•
Take voltage readings on the input
and output.
•
Visually inspect electrical wiring for
signs of overheating and insulation
break down.
•
Take current readings on the input
and output.
•
Adjust for proper output voltage.
•
Check proper operation of any leds
and lamps.
•
Inspect cabinet fans for proper
operation.
•
Verify metering display is accurate.
•
Clean the interior of the unit.
•
Clean and re-torque the batteries
connections as required.
•
Take individual Battery readings.
•
Perform a functional test of the
Emergency Lighting Inverter.
Upon completion of each maintenance
visit, PSS will;
•
Analyze graphical battery condition
report.
•
Maintain data files.
•
Analyze battery trend data.
•
Follow up on outstanding issues.
